Club Projects for February

It's here!! Stamp club is here tomorrow night. It's also President's Day. Anyway, I've got three projects planned. Be sure if your coming to bring your scissors and adhesive. Also, as you can tell from the project below, we'll be using the white gel pen. If you happen to have a white gel pen, go ahead and bring it. Be sure to put your name on it first!

I don't know if you can tell from the above picture, but I used the cripper on the cupcake wraper. The cupcake itself is raised with glue dots. I also used the Big Shot for the large round scallop. This card would be perfect for a child or an adult. Do you like it?

The next project features the shaving cream technique. It's a simple card and fast. We used Sweet Stems for this background. When you go home, be sure to take the cards inside because otherwise your significant other is going to wonder where you've been!

Finally, the last project is super simple. It's a bookmark and we used the new scallop punch. Is it not cute? We also used the new DSP Tea Party. It seems like I reach for this paper for every project. I just love the colors. You'll notice that one side of the bookmark has a 2009 calendar. It's a great bookmark for your Bible or just whatever book you're reading.

That's it for right now. Tomorrow or laster in the week, I'll be posting a Valentine card that I got from my friend Kim. It's such a cute, cute card! I also just noticed that my Valentine Cupie's gift #3 didn't show up on my blog. That just kills me because I know I posted it.

My final Cupid gift for day #3

I know!! I know!! I know who my cupid is. I thought it was Alison, nope. Alison and Rhonda faked me off by using Alison's home address. That was dirty. My cupid is Rhondag!!!! As it turns out, I was also her cupid. How neat!

So what did Rhonda get me on the final gift?? It's a tin or metal box decorated with beautiful DSP paper an filled with different types of Dove chocolates, some rasberry, some strawberry, some dark, milk chocolate and then there's some Hershey chocolate hearts. She totally get's me. She knows I love chocolate.

She also got me the Ribbon Originals and look, just look at how she decorated the sleeve!! Is it not adorable? I know you can't see the details in the birdy above so here's close-up shot.

And finally, look at this sweet, sweet card. You can bet I'll be casing this!

And how does it fold??? Check this out.

Thank you sweet Rhonda!!!! You really out did yourself, but you sure made me proud!!

Cupid Gifts Day #2
Today was day number 2 of the Cupid Swap. I think I've got the best cupid ever. I couldn't wait to get hom tonight to open my gift. Tonight I promised Jessica she could help open since Gracie opened last night.

This next picture shows the cute box which wasn't really the actual gift. I just love pink and brown together and I have a thing for cute, cute boxes. So here you go...

And..what was inside that pink and brown square box. It's a beautiful gift bag. If you look closely, you can see embossing on the pink cardstock. Check out all those adorable embellishments. My cupid is talented, don't you think??

This last picture shows the contents of the beautiful bag. Can you say more CHOCOLATE??? Also there's some French Caramel tea from Edmond, OK. It came from a place called Inspirations. Here's the website incase you want to order some for yourself. www.inspirationstearoom.com Hmmmm....that's a hint!!! There's also a heart shaped tea infuser. Ah.....I can see hot tea after the girls are in bed!!!! And....if it's as good as it smells, I know the place I can order it!!!

Thanks sweet cupid!!!

Cupid Gifts Day #1

Alright, so let me explain. I joined this group of wonderful demo swappers. They are truly wonderful. At Christmas time, they did a secret elf swap. For Valentine's Day, you guessed it, they did a secret cupid swap. They let me play!!!
My cupid is WONDERFUL!!! I'm so excited and can't wait until tomorrow. I promised my little 3 year old that I would wait until this evening so she could help open it. I had such a hard, hard time waiting. When we got home, the first thing we did was open our cupids gift!!!

Here's a picture of Gracie sitting in front of the gifts. Is she not adorable??? I don't know that you can tell but there are numbers on each package. Tomorrow, I open day 2. I can't wait.

It's so stink'in cute and she is so very, very creative. Okay, so let me tell you about it. Here's a picture that shows everything. Scroll on down and you'll see a close up picture.

My sweet cupid used the textured Parisian Breeze Speciality designer series paper which I completely love on the little box!! I love that paper. That paper is absolutely gorgeous!! She also used the Curly Label Punch for the label. So, so cute!!! Oh and what did she put in the box....CHOCOLATE, but not just your regular chocolate she knew me! She filled the little box with Ghiradelli chocolate squares with caramel. YUM!!

That's not all. She also used Hidden Garden rubons in chocolate chip on the little sweet, sweet vase wrapped with ribbon and decorated with a butterfly from Simple Friendship. Oh, and can you see the little punched flowers on the little bitty branch? How simply adorable!!!!!
Thank you sweet cupid!! I can't wait until tomorrow!!!!

I'm doing a Recipe Swap with my SA Sistahs

Okay, so a couple of months ago, I decided to start doing a few more swaps. I've been working on a SA swap and finally come up with this design. Now, I have to admit, I saw the design on Split Coast Stampers, but I changed a few things. This particular swap is a 6X6 Recipe Swap. Tell me what you think, please! Is it worthy?

Also, if any of my customers or clubbers would like to to a 6X6 Recipe Swap, just let me know. As of right now, our goal is to have the swaps ready by mid March. If you're interested, just please let me know. A swap can be lots of fun and you'll get so many new ideas!!

Brayered Sky Instructions

A few people asked me how I had such luck with the card below. Actually, I played around. I didn't get it right the first time.

Brayered Sky Technique

Supplies:
  • 3 different colors of classic ink pads
  • Sponge
  • Post it notes
  • Glossy paper
  • Baby wipes (1 baby wipe per card should work fine)

Tips:

  • Clean brayer between changing each color
  • Blend colors using sponge very quickly
  • Make sure that post note is attached to glossy cardstock evenly. Otherwise, you’ll end up with color on the lower edges of the white card stock.

Instructions:

1. Rip/tear gently the post-it on the sticky strip. Make sure you just tear the edges of the sticky strip leaving majority of the sticky strip.
2. Cover ½ the glossy white card stock.
3. If brayer is not clean, clean it with baby wipes.
4. Ink brayer evenly with Pink Pirouette.
5. Roll the brayer on the white glossy paper until blended.
6. Repeat steps 4 & 5.
7. Clean brayer with baby wipe.
8. Lightly sponge tips of yellow post-it note using circular motions. Use the Brocade Blue stamp pad.
9. Remove post-it note and place ½ up the Pink Pirouette.
10. Ink brayer in Bashful Blue. Make sure brayer is inked evenly.
11. Roll across glossy paper until blended.
12. Repeat steps 10 & 11.
13. Using the sponge, blend Bashful Blue and Pink Pirouette.
14. Clean brayer with baby wipe.
15. Remove post-it note and place ½ up the Bashful Blue.
16. Ink brayer in Brocade Blue. Make sure brayer is inked evenly.
17. Roll across glossy paper until blended.
18. Repeat steps 16 & 17.
19. Remove post-it note.
20. Quickly, using the sponge, blend all 3 colors together concentrating on Brocade Blue. Use circular motions.

Finally, more club pictures for January!!

Happy New Year!!

I hope this year brings you lots of happiness, new friends, and good health. So far, it's been a wonderful new year for me. I know, I know, it's only January 8. Guess it doesn't hurt to be optimistic!!

Stamp Club Pictures

Wahoo! Finally finished projects two and three of stamp club! I had finished the first project just after Christmas. It feels good to have the projects ready for club. Now I can play around with some of the swaps that I've joined. I think I've got a total of 3 swaps going!

Okay, so here's the second project. If you want to see the first project, scroll on down.

Add Image

What did I use?

  • Stamp Set - Priceless
  • Cardstock - Old Olive, Baha Breeze, Tangerine Tango, and Whisper White
  • Stamp Pads - Old Olive, Baha Breeze, Tangerine Tango, and Real Red
  • Accessories - Circle punch (different sizes) , scallop edge punch
The third project uses a techniqued called "faux tile." Using the bone folder, I scored every 1/2 inch diagonally. Afterwards, I simply stamped my image. I also used the "huffing" technique. I don't really know that it's officially called "huffing", but that's what I'm calling it!

What did I use?

  • Stamp Set - Inspired By Nature
  • Card stock - Mellow Moss and Whisper White
  • Stamp Pad - Mellow Moss
  • Markers - Always Artichoke, Pumpkin Pie, Close to Cocoa, and Chocolate Chip
  • Accessories - Bone folder and sponge

Scrapbook Club Picture

We always do 2 pages at scrapbook club, I've only completed the first page. Even still, I wanted to go ahead and post so that you could see the colors. The theme is "winter" or more detailed "Baby, It's cold outside." I love that song, but I don't know all the words so I make 'em up as I go along...hmmmm...kind've like this page!

What did I use?

  • Stamp sets - Snow Burst
  • Card stock - Brilliant Blue, Bashful Blue, Whisper White
  • Stamp Pad - Craft White, Brilliant Blue
  • Accessories - Big Shot, Irridescent Ice, Volume 2 of "Write Me a Memory"

I don't know if you can really tell it but the words on the title of this page shimmers. I hope you can see it because it really pops in person!

I've got blog candy!! The winner will be the 1st person that can tell me what the 2nd stamp set was used on the scrapbook page above. The winner will receive 1 ziplock baggy with a variety of ribbon. There will be 10 yards of ribbon the baggy. The deadine is January 15, '08 at 4:30 pm. Good luck!

This is one of three projects that I've got planned for our December 19 stamp club** This project uses the brayer. I can't wait to show you how this works!! November's Scrapbook Club Pictures

Well, what can I say? It's been so long since I've posted. Life just gets busy sometimes and the holidays can keep us really busy too!! So let's see some pictures!!!

The 2 pictures below are the scrapbook pages that we made for November's scrapbook club. Rather than use too much Designer Series Papers (DSP), we chose to use our stamps for the background. We did use a little DSP, but I don't think it was too much. I don't know how well you can see the background, but we used the stamp set Snow Swirled. I think we had a lot of fun with these 2 pages. If I had to do it again, I would probably emboss the Christmas trees with Old Olive and the clear embossing powder to give it a little texture.

What did I use?
  • Card stock - Ruby Red, Old Olive, Chocolate Chip, White, and Holiday Treasures DSP
  • Stamp Set - Snow Swirled and Many Merry Messages
  • Ink - Classic Ruby Red and Old Olive
  • Accessories - Gold brads and 1-3/8 circle punch

This next picture is a picture of Carolyn. She made these cute, cute little gifts for the scrapbook club members. For as long as I've known her, she's always liked penguins! Carolyn forgot to give them to each clubber before they left so I'll be putting one of the little penguins with everyone's order! Nice surprise, huh?? Well, you can thank Carolyn.

And....here's a close-up picture of Carolyn's little gift for everyone!

Christmas Stamp-A-Stack Cards

It's a lazy Sunday afternoon around our house. It was a great time to watch movies, relax and stamp!! I worked on several different projects, but here are 3 of the stamp-a-stack cards. Let me know if you're interested in making these cards!!

Pumpkin, Pumpkin, Pumpkin Eater!

Peter, Peter, Pumpkin Eater....or something like that! Just playing around. I saw a pumpkin similar on another blog or SCS. Where? I just can't remember. So, today I thought I'd try to figure it out. It took 1 sheet of 12X12 cardstock or DSP. I used Autumn Vine. It was really, really easy, and fast, but a little tricky. The tricky parts were not burning the coiled ribbon in the oven!!! The other tricky part was trying to make all the pumpkin pieces stick together...ah....sticky strip to the rescue!!!

What did I use?

  • Cardstock - Autumn Vine DSP, Garden Green, More Mustard
  • Accessories - Scallop punch, 1-3/8 circle punch, brads, ribbon

Mother's Day....Last year

This is one of the other pages that I worked on last Friday night at church. It was crop night and I had a good time. These pictures were taken last Mother's Day on our way to church. I had completely forgotten about them.

What did I use?

  • Card stock - Sage Shadow, White, and Purely Pomegrante
  • Stamp Set - Upsy Daisy
  • Ink - Sage Shadow, Purely Pomegrante

Crop Night at Church...

Went to church for Crop night last Friday night and had a wonderful time. I think that's the most relaxed I've been in a while. While I was there, I worked on several pages but I'm only posting one!

This one is a 2-page layout. I'm not sure why I say a 2-page layout, all my layouts are 2 pages! Anyway this little Snow White outfit is her Halloween outfit for this year. She practically sleeps in the thing! You might wonder why I'm letting her wear it so soon, well.....I want to get my money out of it and it makes her happy!!! So why not bring on the joy!!

Here's a better picture of page one. Don't know that you can tell but I used Gold Glory to emboss and found some shiny gold ribbon that I just happened to have.

What did I use?
  • Card stock - Real Red, Brilliant Blue
  • Stamp Set - Perfect Princess, Big Deal Alphabet
  • Accessories - Gold Glory Embossing Powder, Gold Shiny Ribbon (non SU), Rhinestone brads

Ta-Da!!

Way to go, Marilyn!!

Lucky Marilyn was the first to guess which jumbo wheel (which by the way is Snow) I used on the project below! So...as soon as I get Marilyn's address I'll be sending her the supplies needed to make this card. If you've never visited her blog, take a minute and snoop around. She's got some really cute projects posted!

October Club Projects - Here they are!

Our next club is October 20. I'm posting the projects just so you can get a sneak peek! We have actually 4 projects but 1 project is so simple I felt guilty not adding something else! Here goes...

This little simple project (yes, this is the one that I felt was way so simple!), is something that could easily decorate a place setting at Thanksgiving dinner. All I did was wrap DSP paper around the base of the tea light. The paper I used above is Hawaiian Papaya. I love, love the colors!! And...just wait until you smell the Pumpkin Spice tea candle!

What did I use?

  • DSP (Designer Series Paper) - Hawaiian Papaya (Ha! I told you it was easy!!!)

And this project makes me think of chocolate, why I don't know! So anyway, I tucked a little Hershey candy bar inside wrapped in coordinating DSP paper called Holiday Treasures. Someone in our club mentioned they would like to try embossing, well here we go!! I don't know if you can tell it or not, but the tree is embossed in Chocolate Chip. The snowflake on the candy bar is also embossed. The only requirement for this card is....you can't eat the candy bar in front of me!!!

What did I use?

  • Card stock - Chocolate Chip, Baja Breeze, Old Olive, Holiday Treasures
  • Stamp set - Snow Swirled
  • Ink - Craft Chocolate, VersaMark
  • Accessories - Clear Embossing Powder, 5/8 & 1/4 Old Olive grosgrain ribbon, 1/8 hole punch, 1/3/8 & 1 1/4 circle punch, sticky strip

The last project is so, so simple too, but there's just something kind've elegant about this card. I think is the brushed silver card stock?

What did I use?

  • Card stock - Brushed Silver, White, and Brilliant Blue
  • Stamp set - Jumbo Wheel
  • Ink - Brilliant Blue
  • Accessories - Silver Cord

I often wonder how many people actually read by blog. For the first person that leaves a comment and tells me the name of the jumbo wheel I used in the above card, I'll mail you the items needed to make this card, but you'd better hurry. This offer is only good until October 8, and expires at 3 PM.

And lastly, this has nothing to do with club. I just wanted to show you the Stem Silhouettes (now, how is that spelled?) along my den wall. There are 7 along the wall and I still have 4 more to adhere. Where does the time go?

Good night all!!

My very own little Dororthy....

I've got my very own little Dorothy, except her name is really Jessica. Sunday after church we met my sister-in-law and family after church for lunch. We then went to Walmart. We had promised the girls if they were good, both of them would get an early Halloween outfit. Well, they were perfect! Anyway, when we got home, both girls had to try on their outfits. They were so cute! Tonight or tomorrow night I plan on working on Gracie's Snow White page!

The blue in the little costume perfectly matched Brilliant Blue. It was a perfect match! The only thing that really don't like about this page is I wanted something red and sparkly. Finding something red and sparkly would be easy, but I'm really trying to stick to SU products only and products that I just happen to already own!

What did I use?
  • Card stock - Brilliant Blue, Real Red, Bashful Blue and White
  • Ink - Ballet Blue
  • Accessories - 1-1/4 & 1-3/8 circle punch, 1-3/8 square punch, scallop edge

Our 1st Scrapbook night...

We had our first scrapbook night tonight and I think we had a great time. I know my eyes got watery from laughing at one point. It's a small group, just 5 of us. We're looking for a 6th person to fill a spot. If you're interested (and fun to be around) give me a call! Scrapbook club is a relaxed atmostphere and a time for us to get together and create something wonderful!

Marilyn was the hostess tonight. She brought these "turkey's" that were adorable. Here's a picture. If you want the instructions/recipe, just me know and I can get 'em.
Pictured below, you can see Becky, Linda and Marilyn. Carolyn had a birthday party to go to and Laura was in Peru! We'll catch these missing ladies in November! Does it look like we're having a good time?

As for our scrapbook pages...well, here you go. I think they turned out pretty cute!!! This page below is the 1st of a 2 page layout. Prior to club, everyone was given the opportunity to chose either Thanksgiving or Halloween. The layout is the same but the DSP is different.

What did I use?
  • Card stock - Chocolate Chip
  • Ink - Old Olive, Tangerine Tango
  • DSP -Hawaii Papaya
  • Accessories - 5/8 Old Olive grosgrain ribbon, Big Shot (Gogo boots, Pumpkin)

What did I use?

  • Card stock - Pumpkin Pie
  • Ink - Old Olive, Tangerine Tango
  • DSP -Ghostly Gatherings
  • Accessories - 5/8 Old Olive grosgrain ribbon, Big Shot (Gogo boots, Pumpkin)

Well, come back and check out projects for next months stamp club. I should have something posted really soon!!

3rd Stamp Club Project...

This little card below was our 3rd club project last Monday night. I got the idea from Stampin' Success. Instead of using the Baja Breeze DSP, we just stamped the bottom portion of the card using craft white. In this picture, I stamped the whole front of the card. I really think it looks best with just the bottom portion stamped. It was such an easy project. Perfect for a stressful Monday!!

What did I use?
  • Stamp Set - Upsy Daisy (now on sale by the way!)
  • Card stock - Baja Breeze, White
  • Ink - Baja Breeze, Chocolate Chip, Craft White
  • Accessories - Antique Brass Brad, Word Window Punch, 5/8 Chocolate Chip grosgrain ribbon

It makes me grin...

This little 3X3 card just makes me grin. I was trying to come with the last project for club and my mind is just totally blank. Ever had one of those days? All I knew was, I wanted to use my Big Shot and I wanted to do something either Thanksgiving or Halloween. So there I sat, my mind totally blank. I played around for probably 2 hours. The house was quiet, the girls in bed, Keith asleep (pretending he's awake) on the couch. Me in the kitchen trying to be creative (with no luck) and quiet!

You can't tell it but the jack-o-lantern is on glue dots so he's kind've 3D. Does he look crooked on the layer, well he is! I didn't want him straight because it just looked too fixed.

And this last little card, it drove me nuts. Maybe I'm just too tired! After all it is past midnight. I absolutely love the colors in the DSP paper and I love the patter of the paper too. In fact, I love it so much we're using it at scrapbook club.

I'll come back later to key the recipe. Right now my eyes are so heavy that I'm not really thinking clearly!!! So check back later!

Goodnight John Boy...

September Pages for Scrapbook Club

Even though I don't have my pictures on the pages below, I thought I'd go ahead and post the pages. Posting without the pictures gives clubbers a little more time to pick exactly the right picture! I know some of you want to see colors so that you can coordinate your pictures. Sometimes I match coordinate the colors, sometimes I don't. Clubbers should already have the measurements. If you can crop them before club, that's great. If you can't crop them before club, don't sweat it. As my Jessica says, "we don't sweat the small stuff."

Club night is September 19, Friday night at 6:30 pm. If you haven't told me which theme you'd like, please do so. The layout for both themes are exactly the same, but don't they look a little different? Anyway, let me know which theme you'd like. This will ensure that I have all the paper cut and don't over cut. I'll also go ahead and cut all the letters with my BIG SHOT, yes BIG SHOT!!! For those of you that would like to try it, I'll have it sitting on the table for you to play with it. So here goes!!

Here's the Thanksgiving theme....

And here's the Halloween theme...

Once I attach my pictures, I'll re-post the pictures so you can see what mine look like. Also at that time, I'll type the recipe like I do on my other projects.
Well, that's it for now. I hope to see you on Friday, September 19!!! It should be a fun time!!

Stamp Club - Project #1

First of all, this little project was brought to my attention by Kellie. She showed me a website and I thought "how cute!" Well, of course I changed it up a little to make it cost effective and so that we could use all Stampin' Up! products. I hope you like this little project!

The picture really doesn't do this little project justice. The flash on my digital just didn't make it happen! Plus, there are about 2 or possibly 3 leaves that you really can't see in the picture. Just in case you can't tell what it is, it's a battery operated tea light wrapped in clear vellum. Well, actually the vellum isn't clear. At the base of the vellum I sponged Chocolate Chip ink and blended it with a sponge. Just immediately on top of the Chocolate Chip, I sponged Pumpkin Pie and blended it all the way to the top of the vellum. I don't know if you can tell, the room was dark but there is a little glowing light! How cute? I would've taken more pictures, but hey....I'm tired!!

What did I use?
  • Stamp Set - Autumn Harvest
  • Card stock - Clear Vellum
  • Ink - Chocolate Chip, Pumpkin Pie (both classic)
  • Accessories - sponges, Pumpkin Pie 1/4 inch grosgrain ribbon, sticky stripe tape, battery operated tea light
As far as club, there are 2 more projects. All 3 projects are ready to go for Monday night. If you want to see the rest of the projects, you'll either have to come to club or wait later next week until I post.

Stamp club is September 15 at 6:30 pm. I'm looking forward to this year's club. I hope you can make it Monday night!!

Open House Projects

Last weekend, I had my Open House for Stampin' Up! I think we all had a good time! We made 4 projects that well, I think turned out pretty good. Here they are...

Now I need to be upfront and tell you that I semi-cased this project below, changed the colors, orientation of the card, one of the stamps used (I used a different stamp) and the ribbon is different. I've tried and tried to find the original card for comparison sake, but for the life of me, I can't find it. just fell in love with this little card. If I remember correctly, the original card used Cameo Coral for the base of the card and the stamp with the small blooms. If you find it, please let me know. However, I love the colors below. It just looks so clean.

What did I use?

  • Stamp set - Embrace Life, Sanded
  • Card stock - Baja Breeze, Close to Cocoa, White
  • Ink - Stazon Timber Brown
  • Accessories - Chocolate Chip grosgrain ribbon, Cameo Coral water color crayon, aqua pen
This next card also uses two of the In Colors card stock, which I love. No casing on this one! This was my own little creation. Hope you like it!

We used the reinkers to paint the flowers. I think that's a very inexpensive way to color or fill-in images and also quick!

What did I use?

  • Stamp Set - Dreams du Jour
  • Card stock - Red Riding Hood, Kiwi Kiss, Water Color paper and Bella Rose DSP
  • Ink - Stazon Jet Black
  • Accesories - uni-ball Gel Signo Pen, Scallop Edge Punch, Kwi Kiss and Red Riding Hood reinkers
The card below is actually not on of my most favorites. I like the stamp set but wasn't quite thrilled with the way it turned out. However, I wanted something simple that would be quick and still use a technique. We colored the rubber and then huffed on the stamps. Everytime I say the word huff I think of something drug related. Now mind you, the strongest thing I've ever taken has probably been Tylenol!!

What did I use?

  • Stamp set - Fruit Stand
  • Card stock - Confetti White, Old Olive and Bravo Burgandy
  • Ink - Old Olive and Bravo Burgandy markers
  • Accessories - sponge and Classic Old Olive

And...the below is my most favoritist (I know...not a word) of all. Check out the little scallops on the envelop. This little envelop was made using the Big Shot and the die, Scallop Envelope Bigz die. The Big Shot does all the work for you. All you have to do is pick out your die, insert it between 2 plastic plates and card stock, like a sandwich. I just love my new Big Shot! If you want one, let me know.

This is the front of the little envelope. Isn't it cute???

What did I use?

  • Stamp set - A Little Birdie Told Me
  • Card stock - Barely Banana, Pacific Blue
  • Ink - Pacific Blue
  • Accessories - The Big Shot and Scallop Envelope Bigz Die

Well that's all for right now. Come back and visit because I'll be uploading the projects for stamp club as well as the schedule. Gotta go...kids are awake!!

September Scrapbook Club - Details...

I have the layout sketched and measured. The details below will be for our September 19th club. Here's what you'll need.

2 pictures that are 5 inches wide and 4 inches tall. They will be attached landscape. These will go on page 1.

3 pictures that are 2-3/4 inches wide and 4 inches tall. They will attach portrait. These will go on page 2.

The DSP papers we will be using depend on which theme you'd like to do. If you can, please go ahead and let me know which theme you'd like to do by September 1 or as soon as possible. So that you can see the colors and the DSP paper, I'll post pictures of the paper on my blog in the next couple of days. The layouts for the themes will be exactly the same.

Halloween
DSP - Ghostly Gathers - We'll be using the stamp set Autumn Harvest (the pumpkin) on this page.
Colors - Pumpkin Pie, Kiwi Kiss, Basic Gray, and Basic Black. The main background for this page will be Pumpkin Pie.

Thanksgiving
DSP - Hawaii Papaya - know it sounds kind've strange for Thanksgiving, but look at the colors. We probably won't use the flowers, but will use die-cut leaves with the DSP prints. Or...you may rather use the pumpkins from Autumn Harvest (your choice).
Colors - Chocolate Chip, Tangerine Tango, and Kiwi Kiss. The main background for this page will be Chocolate Chip.

Reading Rulers...

In the past stamp clubs, I've always tried to simplify the measurements. I always made all my cuts in 1/4 inch increments. It just made things so much simpler when I used the big marks!!! I know some people (like me!) are easily confused when reading a ruler. Take a look at these 2 websites if you need a little clarification. There may be clubs where we have to crop in 1/8 increments!! Can you find 3-5/8 inch pf 3-3/16 inch? Yikes!!!

Clothes pins...not just for clothes!

It's been a long time since I've seen clothes pins! My mother use put our clothes outside on the line every Thursday. She worked for a doctor's office and was always off that particular day as well as the weekends. I would come home from school and she would make fresh cookies or a cake. The house was spotless and smelled like a bakery. Like I said, she always had clothes on the line. I didn't care for the feel of the jeans...talk about stiff and the towels were rough. Still, the smell was so fresh! Remember those days? When was the last time you've seen clothes out on the line?

These clothes pins are huge (unlike my mothers)! I got them at a craft store a while back and thought this would be a cute little project. It's a great way to use up scraps. The width of each clothes pin is exactly 1-1/25 inch. Kind'a cute, huh?

So here's a great way to put them to use. I may use them for my upcoming stamp club. I may have to get some more of these cute little boogers so that I can use the current DSP paper!

Okay, so what do you think? Cute???

Gracie's pigtails!

Last night was crop night at church. Our church does this once and month. Each crop night is something that I look forward to attending. It's a great time of relaxing with friends. If your church has such an event, please consider going because you're bound to grow in Christian fellowship. If you'd like to attend our crop night, contact me. You're more than welcome to join us.

This scrapbook page was made last night. I didn't really finish it until tonight. All the paper was cut and the main layout was created last night. Scrap booking has always been a challenge for me, but I enjoy it so much!!

I don't know if you can tell it or not, but I used the swirls from the set Priceless as background for the letters P-I-G-T-A-I-L-S. If actually not that faint in real life! I stamped the little swirls with the classic stamp pad Pretty In Pink. One of the neat things about having the alphabet stamp sets is that you never run out of the letters like you would if you were using stickers. There's only so many vowel's in that pack of stickers!

When I was laying this second page out, Linda Pittman suggested that I add a touch of pink. I don't think you can tell it, but Gracie's little white shirt has little pink flowers. My favorite part of this page is the little insert of squares that captures different body parts! Gracie's 3 years old and every little inch of her is precious!

What did I use?

  • Stamp set - Priceless and Best Friends Alphabet
  • Card stock - Purely Pomegranate, Pretty In Pink
  • Ink - Purely - Purely Pomegranate, Pretty In Pink, Basic Black (marker)
  • Accessories - Square punch, Purely Pomegranate stitched ribbon

Bugs and Kisses to You! Here's a challenge!!!

This little card set was created as a challenge to myself. The challenge was to create 2 different cards using only: 2 different colors of card stock (white not included), 1 color of ink and matching ribbon as the only accessory. In one of the cards, I made background paper by just simply stamping random bug images on the card stock. Sometimes I think we tend to over-bling and forget the simplest techniques!! Oh, and check out the cute little matching envelopes!!

Now, I'd like to challenge all my clubbers to do the same thing. If you can get them to me, I'll post them on my blog. Are you up for this mini challenge?

What did I use?
  • Stamp set - Bugs and Kisses
  • Card stock - Ballet Blue, Certainly Celery and white
  • Ink - Classic Ballet Blue
  • Accessories - Certainly Celery grosgrain ribbon, matching envelopes

Leaves & Swirls along with Brighter Tomorrow

This little card set was made using a retired jumbo wheel called Leaves & Swirls. It was last featured in the 2006-2007 Idea Book and Catalog. It's probably one of my most liked favorite retired wheels and this just goes to show you that just because something is retired doesn't mean it's over, kaput, done with, or totally exhausted! For the stamp set (the words), I used the retired set Brighter Tomorrow. It was also featured in the same 2006-2007 IBC. So drag out your retired sets and start playing around. And...while I'm on the subject of retired items, don't forget that one of your favorite stamp sets may be retiring for good August 10!
