Okay, so I haven't posted since December! Eeekkk.... December has kept me so busy. Sometimes I literally find my making time just to sit down. Know what I mean? Anyway, there's a few things that I really want to tell you!!!

First of all, I've been talking (via email) with this truly amazing and talented blog designer. If our communications go well, we're (well, actually she) going to re-vamping my blog. Well, another actually, she's creating me a new blog for a new year. It's time for a change....it's been time for a change. Anyway, I'm excited about Julie re-creating my blog. Can't wait to see what she creates!

Secondly, HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!!! It's going to be a great year for me personally, professionally, and spiritually. So tell me, what will the new year bring you?

And finally, I'm going to leadership with Stampin' Up! Soooo.....excited!!! Soooo....excited. I promise to bring lots of new ideas to my Stampin' Up! business and hopefully inspire you!

Only 2 More Days!!!

I'm excited for several reasons. Here's why:

1) Today is November 28. That means next week I'll total my sales for the month of November and give 20% to St. Jude Children's Research. The donation will go for shares of leukemia treatments. So far, I can donate 2 shares. I love to be able to donate at least 1 more share but that means I need a big order by the end of November. 2) I sat down today and made both of my little girls a Christmas skirt. The thing is, I really haven't really sewn in several years. If I wasn't so tired, I'd go ahead and do it right now. Seriously though, it's 11:16 pm!!

So much to tell you!

This past Saturday, I attended Crop for a Cure. The organizer of the event truly had her act together. I kind've felt bad that I didn't help her more so I promised next year, I would help out a little more. In all honestly, I just didn't realize the effort she put forth to making this event such a huge success. And...it was a huge success. Not only did so many ladies have fun at this event, but I had a blast!!! I was able to meet so many sweet and creative women. Instantly, I found new friends. The door prizes were nothing but top notch!! The food was wonderful! The atmosphere was a happy atmosphere. The best thing about the whole event was that it raise $3,000 for cancer research!! Can you say WOW???

There were approximately 59 ladies in attendance. Can you imagin all the creativity going on? Just let me tell you, it was a blast! Every brand, every kind of embellishments, card stock, adhesive, stamps, you name it, it was there. The best of everything in my mind......hmmm.....STAMPIN' UP! of course!!

So, with all that said above, let's move on to my little creations. Yes, I've been busy with my family and work. Sometimes I wonder how I fit everything in. I guess it's a good thing I'm a night owl because that's when I get ready for clubs. Guess you could say I'm a night owl several nights out of the week and then I just crash.

Lately, I've been working on a combination of Christmas and fall. Can't really decide which season I like the best. Love, love the colors of fall, the crispness of the leaves, the reflection of the trees on the lake, the chili suppers, all the feativals and craft shows. Christmas, I just love the true meaning of Christmas and all the parties!

The above card was a last minute swap card I created for a swap. It was one of those hurry up and create something so nobody will miss a card in their swap kind of thing. Yes, I was an angel!!!

The two pictures above are obvious the same card. I just zoomed in a little so that you could see my newest craze....sewing!!! My mother would be so proud of me for using her sewing machine. There was something wrong with the machine and it would stitch anything and kept breaking needles. Took the sewing machine to Rome, Georgia and had it fixed. Love, love, love that sewing machine. It's metal and not plastic, it's been used and not on a shelf. So many memories of my mom sitting in front of that machine!

I think I really impressed my friend Kim (from Stampin' Addicts) with my sewing ability!!! Wahoo!!!! I love to impress any of the sisters from SA because they are oh so talented and well....I try! I really do try!! If you haven't visited Stampin' Addicts, please do so!!

This same card looks totally different from the first one that I posted on this thread. It's the same stamp set, just a little different. Isn't it neat that with Stampin' Up! you can use the same colors the same stamp set and come up with something totally different? And, that my friend, is why I'm truly in-love with Stampin' Up!

Moved from WordPress back to Blogger....so a little catching up

Normally, I don't have an issue importing from WordPress to Blogger. However, today, I was at my wits end. So why am I moving back to blogger? Well, I've asked Michelle Laylock to re-vamp my pityful blog and to do that, I had to go back to Blogger. It's good thing because I've been wanting to come back to blogger, it's just a hassle!! WordPress was great and I liked it, but they have a rule about not being able to advertise for sale or something like that. Anyway, worried that WordPress would delete my blog, I headed back over here. Plus.....Michelle...oh Michelle Laylock is going to re-vamp my blog sometime in January. Yes, January. She has an extensive waiting list. I wished I had gotten on her waiting list a while back but she didn't accept WordPress customers. So.....here I am!!!! I'm anxiously awaiting my new and improved blog!!

BINGO Night

Now you’re probably thinking, what in the world does BINGO have to do with stamping or scrapbooking. Well, hang on because here’s my explanation.
I am going to be getting rid of most all of my retired products. Now some of these retired stamp sets have been used very lovingly In fact, they have ink stains on them. Some of the ribbon aren’t full spools. Some of the brads or eyelets are full packages. There may be sheets of scrapbook (DSP) or almost full packages.
I’ll lay these items on a table. For 1 hour, we’ll play BINGO. When you…

yell out BINGO! you’ll get to walk up to the table and pick anything from that table to take home with you.

when you bring a friend that I haven’t met, you’ll be able to walk up to that table, pick out your free item and take it home

when you purchase over $50 of Stampin’ Up! goodies (the same night as BINGO), you’ll get to pick out something on the table. Plus you’ll get 10% off your order.

If you book a workshop, you’ll get to pick out 2 items off the table and receive 10% off your next order

If you sign as a demonstrator, you’ll get to pick out 3 items off the table and get to go to convention with me!!! Yay!!!

We’ll play as many BINGO games with that 1 hour time frame as possible. So when, where, and what are the other facts? Here ya’ go!

So, how did the Christmas Stamp-A-Stack go?

The Christmas Stamp-A-Stack was great! The best thing about it was I got to meet 2 new ladies. Their names are Leisa and Kelly. Both are very nice girls. I hope you get a chance to meet them.

There were 5 ladies that attended and we made 150 Christmas cards in about 4 hours. Not bad huh?? What’s the second best thing? Everyone that attended now has her Christmas cards made. Yay!!!! It’s August and our cards are made. What an accomplishment!!

Christmas Stamp-A-Stack *** 8/14/2010

Hey Ladies, I thought I would just take a few minutes and post my Christmas cards for the Stamp-A-Stack (SAS) on Saturday morning, August 14. This event starts at 10 am and will be over at 1 pm. The cost is cheap!!! You may do 15 cards for $15. You may do 30 cards for $27. You'll notice that these cards are very simple. I made the cards simple so that they would be quick and easily duplicated. If you've been stamping for a while now, you may also notice that I used several older stamp sets. These are sets that are my personal favorites.

There are 2 different sets of cards that you may choose from. For simplicity sake, I'm calling them Set 1 and Set 2. In each set, there are 3 different designs and you'll make 5 each of each 3 designs. You'll end up with 15 cards. Make sense? When you sign up for this event, you'll need to tell me 3 things:

1) Which set you would like to make.
2) Do you want to make 15 or 30 cards.
3) Do you want envelopes? If so, please add $4 to each set of 15 cards. The envelopes will be a either vanilla or white to match the card.

Scrapbook Club & Beach

Below is the last scrapbooks that our club made back in July. I love the colors on these 2 pages and adore the DSP! The ladies in this club titled their pages "Lazy Day's", "Sunny Day's", but the older I get, everything is "Hazy Day's!"

This next card is just one that our stamp club did. I'm planning on doing this on a scrapbook page in our new scrapbook club. I may even ask the ladies from our last club if they would like to come over and do this on the side. Not part of the club, just something a little extra. I think it would be pretty cool!

This card just makes me want to pack my bags and head for the beach. I love this card! It's actually a super fast card to make and is great for swaps!

For those of you that didn't know, I had my Stampin' Up! open house this past weekend. It was a huge success. We had 6 projects and lots of attendees. The food was awesome! Fox and Hen Cafe/Deli did an fabulous job. For every purchase of SU products over $45, the customer got a chance to win the big shot. Yay Toni!! Oh, and several others won door prizes as well! All in all, it was a great evening.

Becoming a Stampin’ Up!® Demonstrator

Here are some answers to Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) about getting started as a Stampin’ Up!® demonstrator.

1. How do I sign up? You must sign up through another demonstrator. This demonstrator is your "upline" and helps you with training, learning techniques and provides any support you need. Make sure you choose a good upline! When you are ready, you can even sign up and do all the paper work at http://www.stampinup.net/esuite/home/ellenpruett/

2. Why should I choose you as an upline when you live far away? I love stamping and I absolutely love sharing this passion with others. I am dedicated to helping all of my downlines with whatever they need, whenever they need it. Deciding if you want to find an upline that lives close by you or an internet friend like me is a personal choice. Choose what you feel most comfortable with. If you would like to find a demonstrator near you, call the toll free line at 1-800-STAMP UP.

3. How many home demonstrations are required to remain an active demonstrator? There is no number of required demonstrations to remain an active demonstrator, only a $300 in sales per quarter minimum. This sales minimum is not hard to achieve since even your own personal purchases can count towards this sales minimum. When first signing up as a demonstrator, you have a total of 6 months to get your first minimum of $300 in sales.

4. What kind of discount does a demonstrator get? With Stampin’ Up!® you receive a great discount on all stamps and products you purchase for yourself. You may also use that money as instant income. 5. How much does it cost to get started? Stampin’ Up!® currently has a great program for becoming a demonstrator. 6. How long does it take to get my kit? Currently, it takes about 1-2 weeks to receive all of your materials. I promise, it’s like getting a Christmas present to your door!

7. Can a demonstrator host her own parties? Yes!! A demonstrator can be the hostess at her own party. This is a wonderful way to earn more stamp sets, water color crayons, cardstock, punches, etc.!

8. Would I be an employee of Stampin’ Up! ? No. You would be an independent contractor and not an employee. You are responsible for paying your own self-employment taxes. You can make your own hours and be as flexible as you wish!

9. What other benefits are there in joining Stampin’ Up!? Stampin’ Up! is a great company to work with. They have great products which really sell themselves. Stampin’ Up! covers the hostess gifts, does not require you to maintain an inventory of products, allows you to sell anywhere in the country, and really supports their demonstrators with fabulous training conferences, conventions, monthly magazines, websites and more. If you’ve ever wanted to spend some quality time with friends, this is for you!

If you just need time away from the kids for just one night, this is for you!

If you would like to add to your scrapbook or stamping collection and you’re on a budget, this is for you!

I’m talking about joining a stamp club or scrapbook club. Here’s how it works:

1. You’ll make 3 projects each month. Most of the projects will be beautiful cards if you join a card club. If you join a scrapbook club, you’ll make 2 coordinating 12x12 pages.

2. You’ll commit to 10 months for card club or 6 months for scrapbook club.

3. For card club, your minimum purchase is $15 per month. For scrapbook club, your minimum is $25 every other month for 6 months.

4. You’ll pick one month to be the hostess. The hostess months are chosen by first come, first serve. Previous club members have first choice.

5. The month that you serve as hostess is the month that you’ll reap the benefits from the sales. You’ll get to pick out set amount of Stampin’ Up! products based on the sales for that month.

6. As the hostess, you provide the snacks (brownies are great), paper products and drinks (water or soda is perfect). You may join an existing club by contacting me.

For some reason today, I’m feeling a subdued. It’s one of those days that I could sit and read a good book all day. The only thing is, I don’t have the time and if I did have the time, I’d surely fall asleep! It seems like every time I start reading, I get really sleepy.

Okay, so much for personal stuff. Sorry for the blurry picture, but check out this brayered sky card below. I used the slot punch for cattails. Cute huh! It’s not an original idea. I’m sure that I’ve cased the cattails from someone!

Faux Tissue

The other day, I hosted a swap on Stampin' Addicts. This particular swap was called a technique swap. my technique, I wanted to do something kind've simple and fast, but with details. What did I decide to do? Faux tissue. Oh so simple.

All you do is, stamp on tissue paper and wad the paper into a tiny ball. Afterwards you un-wad the tissue and adhere to cardstock. Now how simple is that? Here's how my card turned out.

I'm a visual person that really needs to see to understand. I can read and comprehend but pictures seem to tell the story a little faster! So, with that in mind, I decided to post some pictures of the newer colors and the colors that will be retiring. If you're anything like me, it's a little sad to see the older colors go into retirement. Still, it's so exciting to see the fresh new colors that we'll all get to play with and make beautiful projects!!

Back from Regionals

I got back from Stampin' Up! Regionals which was held in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. I had a blast. I got to hang out with some of the sweetest girls!!! I feel like I've know these girls forever. There's a special bond between us!

At regionals, there were black boards with pictures on them along the side of the convention room. Here's one of those boards. This particular board features Sweet Scoops. Now, I've got to have that stamp set!

The Stampin' Addicts sisters and friends got together on Friday night for a dinner and swapped cards. I received so many beautiful cards that I just can't believe! They were all beautiful. I would love to post them but I'm afraid that I won't be able to give credit where credit is due!

Color Renovation

I am thrilled. I tell you I am thrilled!!!! We got the new news about the new colors that was released from Stampin' Up! I can't wait to show you the new colors and start playing with them!!!

After 2 years of research, Stampin' Up! has decided to revamp their colors. Hence, the Color Renovation. Instead of family colors, there will now be color collections! Yay!!!! This means we'll get brand new colors along with some returning In-Colors. Now when does this happen? Well, you'll be able to purchase these new colors from the new Idea Book in Catalog that will be released on July 1. That means the last time you'll be able to purchase the retiring colors will be June 30!

What's in store for you?

There will be four Color Collections: Brights, Neutrals, Regals, and Subtles.

Each Color Collection consists of 10 colors.

The Color Renovation will mean that there will be 30 colors retiring from our previous color palette to make room for the new!

Stampin' Up! will continue to offer Brushed Gold, Brushed Silver, Confetti Cream, Confetti White, Glossy White, Naturals Ivory, Naturals White, Shimmery White, and White vellum cardstock, as well as White vellum paper.

What will be joining us?

I don't know if you have noticed, but I have tabs at the top of my blog. One tab will take you directly to the list of stamp sets that I have for sale. One reason that I am selling these stamps is to make room for new sets. I also want to give you the chance to purchase these stamp sets at a really good price. Did you know...

If you are on my "active" mailing list, you should be getting a new mini catalog? The mini catalog is geared towards summer and has some really, really cute stamp sets! You should be receiving that catalog soon. The sales period for the Summer mini starts May 1.

For the May stamp club, I will be using 3 stamp sets from the summer mini catalog. Also, because we don't have a hostess for that month, it will be a mystery workshop. All guest are invited to attend, but please, please let me in advance so that I can be prepared.

The summer mini has some new products! Yay!!! One of new products is described as "It's quick, it's easy, it's shimmery - it's Smooch Spritz!" We'll use it in May's stamp club, so come see what it's about.

I am seriously considering a class on simple scrapbooking? I got the idea from my Stampin' Success magazine. What you do is take 1 month at a time and scrapbook that month. On one page, you'll have a calendar, a few picture, journaling and embellishments. Nothing fancy, just clean and simple. The cost for this club is $15 (products from any SU catty) and would meet every month. There would be 10 people in the club. At the end of the club year, you have a 12X12 calendar for the whole year. Talk about a precious gift for yourself or someone very special!

Don't forget about the color challenge using the colors from Dunkin' Donuts! The details are in the post below.

I joined a group called "Recruit Crew" by Stampin' Up! This is a group of Stampin' Up! demonstrators who want to become the best demonstrator's that they can possibly be. There are several modules that we're to complete. These modules include different challenges.

Module one asks that we do several things. One of those things is create a "my why" story or list. Why you want to do the recuit crew or maybe why you joined Stampin' Up! My why goes like this.

I wanted to be creative and make new friends. I also wanted to be able to afford my hobby by getting discounts on Stampin' Up! products that I really wanted. I also wanted to make extra money and earn other incentives like maybe a cuise or go on conventions. It just sounded fun and it is fun.

Instead of telling a story, I made a quick and very easy page using Stampin' Up's "My Digital Studio". I keep changing the pictures on the page to tell different stories depending upon who I'm talking with. I think this says it all.

Now here's another one of the incentives. I need 1 (just 1) recruit during the month of March. If I can get one recruit during March, I'll get to see the new 2010/2011 before other demonstrators. So, here's my question, can you help me out?? I really want to see that catty!

Playing with My Digital Studio

Tonight was crop night at church, but Keith had plans so I really couldn't go. I did go by and see my friends for a few minutes and then headed back home. Once I got home, I got my laptop out and started playing with My Digita Studio (MDS) from Stampin' Up! I love it. Just in a few minutes, I made this cute little card. Oh, so easy!!

Embossing Resist - So Simple

At last night's stamp club, we re-visited an old technique called embossing resist. It's such a simple, simple technique. Here's the card we made. Notice there we didn't use any embellishments.

On this particular card we used glossy paper. The very first thing we did was emboss the image in white embossing powder. You could easily use clear embossing powder but since we weren't using an embellishments, I wanted this embossed image to pop. One we finished the embossing, we simple sponged classic ink over the embossed image. I used Lovely Lilac and Apricot Appeal. The very last step was wiping any excess ink off the glossy cardstock. If you've never tried this technique, give it a try. You'll love the results.

Who's my cupid?

So the title of this post is "Who's my cupid?" Before I start talking about my cupid, I want to show you more gifts.

On February 13, my very talented cupid sent me shredding scissors and a mini ruler. I didn't know that shredding scissors even existed. I think they would be great for cutting grass (making cardstock look like grass) and making flowers. I just found this blog called Maya * Made. You need to check it out. She's such a crafty gal! On Feb. 13, my cupid also got me a clear mini ruler with a straight edge. I can think of a trillion ways to use this.

My day 3 gift was something that I dearly love. When I opened it, I had this strong gut feeling that I knew who my cupid was. I was right!! It was LisaBee. You can see some of her beautiful work on her blog as well as on the gallery of Stampin' Addicts. Here's a couple of links for you...

And yesterday was Valentine's Day. Happy Valentine's to all my friends!!! So was my 3rd and final gift? It was a CD by Casting Crown. I absolutely love Casting Crowns and don't own it! In fact, I don't own and CDs because I usually check them out of the library at church. I'm so bad about keeping them longer than I'm suppose too. Well, I guess I can listen to this one as long as I want! I haven't listened to this one yet, so you know what I'm going to be doing while I'm stamping!. Thank you sweet LisaBee!!
